Apple announced their new iPad earlier today.
It boasts a faster processor and an improved retina display screen. The new retina display screen has a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels and a density of of 264 pixels per inch, giving over 3.1 million pixels in total. Colour saturation has also been improved over 44%. It uses the new A5X processor with quad core graphics.
The camera has been improved and the iPad will now support HD video recording.
The new iPad is 9.4mm and slightly heavier than the previous iPad2, allowing for a slightly larger battery and still allows the iPad3 to have the same 10 hour battery life as previous models.
The iPad 3 will be available internationally from the 16 March 2012.
Updates – FNB have apparently announced that they will be bringing the new Ipad to South Africa, while Core, the official South African distributor for the Apple have not released any details about when the iPad3 will hit South Africa.
